This tutorial is a FAVORITE. Each year, we create our own Art Pumpkins using (the secret art tool…) CHALK MARKERS!
If you’d like a print out of the supply list, and a printable “inspirational shapes” PDF, just sign up on the link above.
You can also check out the video below… it was originally a 2020 FaceBook Live: a super-easy ART Pumpkin Tutorial.
My FAVORITE is the Henri Matisse-inspired pumpkin! His cut-outs from the 1940s are fantastic. To read more about Matisse’s cut outs on the MOMA website, click HERE.
I tried painting my pumpkins with white household paint before using my chalk markers (art exploration!) but the paint peeled off. It’s best to just chalk marker directly on ANY color pumpkin (no need to paint). But don’t forget to seal your pumpkins… chalk marker will run when introduced to water!
If your family decides to create your own ART Pumpkin, I’d love to see it! Tag me on Insta or FB, or feel free to email me a photo.Keep creating, my friends!
